Today is a beautiful day here in Southern California! Couldn't stay in bed, got up early and got grocery shopping done early. Tonight husband and I are going to attend an awards ceremony in Beverly Hills. It is really a treat for us, we never stay overnight anywhere with out kids and tonight we are going to! Haven't done this in 2 years. Getting dressed up, going to have a nice dinner and see a neat ceremony. Going to the FAITA awards. First Americans in the Arts. It is an awards ceremony American Indians have made up for themselves to honor and acknowledge those American Indians on stage and in films. Kind of a mini OSCARS for Indians. 16th year actually and I am sure few have heard of it. Last night I decided my old dress wouldn't do, and went to buy a new dress. The night before, not a good idea. But the first store I went to and the first and only dress I tried on was absolutely perfect. I love it! And I got it for a steal which was even better. I have a terrible time finding formal wear, long dresses are never long enough for me and usually barely skim my ankles as I am almost 6 feet tall. But I actually found a ready made dress that is long enough. The drawing is of a dress called a Jingle Dress, it is a dress for dancing, for participating in Pow wows. I am trying to design a new one for myself and this is what I have come up with so far. I like drawing with crayons and I am not very good at it, but I enjoy it and keep trying!

Oh I love the sound of a jingle dress! I'm so glad you found something you loved for a good price for your special event. I think that is an event I would love to see and think everyone should know about it.
