What a beautiful morning here in So. Cal.!! I am trying to enjoy it, we are expecting Santa Ana winds next week, which means really hot and windy. I love wind, but not stifling hot wind. I was loving that it was cooling off and turning to Fall ever so slightly and now this!! It could be as high as 90 degrees. Sheesh!
I went to an awesome craft fair last night with my mom and my son (yes, my 16 year old son loves to go to craft fairs with me and his grandma, lucky for me since I have no girls) all the beautiful Halloween decorations! I could have easily spent 500.00! I didn't. But I did get a really neat plaque for the house and a beautiful "Witch Ball" for my new house. A witch ball is said to bring peace and tranquility to your home. More specifically it mesmerizes evil spirits with it's beauty and then traps them inside the glass in the webbing. Reminds me of American Indian Dreamcatchers, kind of the same theory. The dreamcatcher is round and has a web made of sinew, that looks like a spiderweb and catches bad dreams, thoughts and vibes in the web. So many instances you find that people who had no contact, oceans away from each other were thinking the same things and doing and making similar objects. We are not so different from each other no matter where we are. Anyway, I have alot of dreamcatchers and now I have a witch ball.
On another note, I had an interesting doctor visit last week. I had had hair testing done and I got my results. They show that I have lead poisoning. I have 4 times the acceptable amount of lead in my body. Iwas just amazed. My doctor says that is why I have been feeling bad all year. Lead poisoning can wreak havoc on the body, muscle, tissue, nerves, etc. I was speechless. I never even considered something like that. The therapy is called chelation thereapy, it is an IV treatment once a week for 3 hours!! For 20 weeks. It is kind of controversial from what I have read (and expensive, 180. per session!!) but my doctor recommends it. I really don't know what to do. I want to feel better and if this is it, then I want to do it. I am just not sure. Maybe I will get another opinion and additional testing??? How did I get lead poisoning? I did live in an older house that was in pretty bad shape for about 2 years, it needed alot of work, the old owners had painted over coats and coats of old paint instead of stripping, and when I lived there I was sanding, chipping and re-doing old doors and walls. Big pieces of paint would chip and peel off at a time, and the dust from the sanding was pretty bad. I really didn't give it much thought at the time. I did most of the work myself, thank goodness, when my kids weren't home. We gave up on that house and got a newer one, it was too much work. I guess it is logical that is how I got it. I started feeling bad about 1 1/2 years after moving in. My aunt works in a childrens hospital and says it is pretty standard for them to treat children with lead poisoning with chelation therapy even though it is still considered somewhat controversial. Hmm. I love my doctor, she is a holistic M.D., but sometimes I still have doubts, her ways are different from doctors I have been to throughout my life, I still struggle with a more mainstream approach to health, even though I really prefer a more holistic one. I think we get so used to beleiving all the ads and information put out there by big drug companies and such, that we forget that there may be better more natural ways out there if we look. I certainly beleive in taking medications and things you need to feel better, I just mean that sometimes you can find something that is just really simple, like taking magnesium to sleep. I was having a terrible time sleeping and was considering something like Lumestra, but my new doctor gave me a jar of powdered magnesium for about 16.oo that lasted me about 2 months and it works like a charm. I never have trouble falling asleep when I take it. 1 teaspoon in water or juice before bed. Magic.

OMG! I am so sorry to hear this, it's awful news. No wonder you're struggling with your health. I think you need to do whatever it takes to feel better. I would try the treatment one time and see how I feel.
Naturally speaking, foods high in pectin are really good for removing toxins from the body so eat some apples and pears. Oatmeal is also a good cleanser for the body as long as you drink large amounts of water with it and afterwards. It picks up all the bad stuff in the digestion tract.
Big hug to you!
I miss you! I love Men in Trees, was it on last week where you are? It wasn't on here even though the guide said it would be. I love hearing about your grandma and her shows too, LOL.
