Sea Lions have been in the local news the last few months in our area! I love them. It is so neat to have them around. They have gotten into the bay, a group of them, and they are sunning themselves on boats and buoys. They bark occasionally during the day and in the night. I love the sound of these ocean creatures talking to each other at night. The city on the other hand, has hired a group of men to follow them around at night and poke at them with cattle prods to keep them apart. They "talk" to each other and it is bothering the residents. Residents of the area are complaining because they make too much noise and are a nuisance. It seems to me, if you want to live oceanfront then you take the ocean as it is, with all its creatures and celebrate them. Not become resentful and wind up in the local paper complaining about it. They have even sunk a few boats. While I feel for the boat owners, it is a chance you take. I hope the sea lions stay.

I hope they do too! I'm surprised people aren't complaining about the smell, they have the worst bad breath in the animal kingdom and I love them just the same. I think it's a blessing they feel safe there, that's a good sign. People are so weird to complain about things like that.
Pumpkin soup? Wow, interesting! I don't think I've ever had that. Oh I wish I owned Practical Magic! I have it on tape but that isn't the same. Have you read the book? It's even better than the movie.
This reminds me of the people in NJ who want to get "close to nature" and build housing developments on the edge of the woods...only to be horrified when bears come out of the woods to eat their garbage.
You can't have it both ways, right?
