A New Year

I feel barely over Christmas and here it is already the 23rd of January! Whew!! I'm still running into a few post Christmas sales. I stocked up on wrapping paper and cards and tags just last weekend..down to 80% off. Great deals. I also found a good deal on cotton yarn. I love yarn. I have been crocheting, nothing fancy, for years. Scarves, blankets, bags. Next week I am going to take a knitting class. I am looking forward to it, it will be fun. I'm taking it with my Mom. We are going to be starting at the very beginning and making dishcloths. 4 years ago (!), I made this knitting needle holder off of a pattern on the DIY network website. I had inherited a whole slew of knitting needles in different sizes from an older friend who didn't knit any more so I made this to hold them and planned on learning how to really knit. I can knit alittle, but I always wind up with a different number of stitches on each row and it is very uneven. The little balls of Sugar and Cream cotton yarn I found were $ 1 a skein. Great deal! It takes one skein to make one dishcloth, our first project.

We are getting a break in the weather, it has been storming here-rain, very high winds for a few days straight. There is more in the forecast but I woke up to beautiful, blindingly bright sunlight this morning. Yesterday as I was driving to work there was still rain and some sun at the same time so we got a beautiful rainbow. The picture doesn't do it justice.
