Trying a new recipe
I love the blog octoberfarm.blogspot.com/, I would love to have her house, her dog, her garden, etc............! She does some pretty interesting food too, and I finally got around to trying one dish this evening. Tian. I'd never heard of it but it is French and I had everything to make it with except of the better cheeses. I had pre shredded monterrey jack and I just used that so I wouldn't have to go out and it still came out pretty good! I will definitely make it again, it is a great vegetable dish with cheese and even my 10yr old ate it. But I will use parmesan and a couple of other good cheeses and I think it will make it that much better. I told my mom I was making it and of course saved a piece for her!
On another topic, I have a new dog. He belonged to someone who is moving to a smaller place and didn't think they could have him. His previous owner rescued him from the pound. He is very pretty and mostly sweet, except for a little bit of growling (low and weak) and nipping at air, never really biting. I think he was just really unsure of us. He is improved so much over the last few days, I think he is going to work out.( we are actually having a trial week) He is a border collie/chow mix. Black and rust. He has a little bit of an exotic look around the eyes, if that makes sense, and he has the blue tongue of the chow. Not as furry which is probably a good thing here in So. Cal where it never gets very cold. The other dog, a miniature pinscher loves him, they love each other and play very well, and he is not interested in the cats at all, is a little afraid of them. They are really getting used to him also and don't seem to pay him much mind unless he gets a little too close which he tries not to do. I wish I could rename him though, his name is "Lincoln". I don't really care for it but it is his name and he seems to recognize it. Oh well. Previous owner had 4 animals all named after presidents. Interesting.
