I was driving by the library around the corner from my house the other day and I saw this on their front lawn!  Of course my son and I had to get out and investigate and get a closer look.  I have seen random acts of knitting in pictures around the internet but have never seen any in real life.   It was fun to find this in my neighborhood.   There was a tag on it that had had some writing on it, possibly explaining it or maybe who put it there but is has rained recently and the ink was washed away.

I am not much of a knitter but I try.  Sometimes.  I would love to make socks or fingerless gloves or something like that.   But I need to get better at it first.  Patience.   I started working on a dishcloth the other day and I ripped it out twice.  I think I'm doing okay on it now.

That's Spike my miniature Pinscher and he must sit on my lap every time I sit down!

It is a very bright pink although not quite as pink as the picture.  It's the lighting, I took a picture with the flash and without and the with flash was the best picture.   I am using Sugar and Spice 100%  cotton yarn.  I love cotton yarn, it has a nice feel.   Sugar and Spice has a lot of pretty colors and it goes on sale from time to time for 1.00 at Joann's and at Micheal's just the right amount for a dishcloth or a wash cloth.

Recently I did a little beadwork too, as a gift for a sister-in-law.   I think it came out pretty nice.  It is Kokopelli the fluteplayer.   She really likes him and has wall hangings, rugs and coffee mugs with him on it.   I used tiny 13 seed beads for the black and size 11 beads for the green.   Then I attached it to a black cord and there you go.  She really liked it.

I haven't been making anything for quite a while and now it has hit me all at once in the last few weeks.  I've been in the mood to make things.   I have a couple of thing ready to sew too, I cut out a pair of pajamas out of the cutest race car fabric for my 2 year old great nephew Max and a dress for my mom.   Actually not just any dress but a Civil War costume dress.   It requires boning and casings and things I haven't done before.  But I think I can handle it.  The pattern looks pretty straight forward.    I just hope I can find time to sew, this week has been hard as it is conference week at Youngest Son's school and he has been getting out at 1:00pm. and was off all day today.  I like to sew when he's at school or in bed asleep.  I tend to get a one track  mind when I'm sewing or beading and ignore everyone and everything!

I love the things you've made! I like cotton yarn too. The bead work is so intricate and beautiful. If you can master that, you can knit slippers. I have a very EASY pattern if you ever get inspired to do slippers :)

Wow! Well the trees must have been cold. I too get inspired all at once and then get long bouts of non-inspiration. You are so talented to take on so many different projects.

I, too, admire your many talents, all the beautiful things you make in so many different media...beading, needlework, sewing. I hope you'll post a photo of that Civil War dress when you have it finished!
