Memorial Weekend

(I saw this at the Dickens faire thought is was beautiful)
Well I had big plans this weekend for my yard, I was going to plant more flowers, etc. But my youngest is sick with a chest cold and has asthma. He sticks pretty close when he doesn't feel good and I have spent most of the weekend so far watching movies and cartoons (check out Jane and the Dragon, a beautifully animated cartoon from Canada, medieval cartoon, I loved it) and playing video games. The yard will have to wait another day. If he will play by himself a little today I will maybe get to sew or bead a little. It is so hard for me to sit down and sew or bead or anything, housework is always calling to me, the house could always be a little cleaner or something needs to be done. But when I do take time out to make something, I feel so good about what I have made, I don't know why I don't do it more often.
I will go tomorrow to a Memorial Day ceremony at the cemetery where my grandparents are buried. They do a really nice ceremony to honor all the servicemen and women past and present. The war is horrifying and I wish we could see our way out of it or even a light at the end of the tunnel. But I feel great pride and admiration for those who decide to serve our country.

I just wanted to comment about Waitress since you wrote to me about it. I saw the review on Roeper and Ebert and knew I just had to see it! Sadly on our island I don't think it is showing anywhere but is one I am definitely going to rent. It looks so good and yes, how can I say no to a movie that talks about making pie?!
