A New Year

Well this is from Christmas morning, not the New Year.   I found Santa driving around in his cool vintage car Christmas morning.  He made a stop at Starbucks.

The car was really awesome and Santa and one of his helpers were having a good time.
The skies have been amazing lately and my camera really doesn't do them justice.  They are so much pinker with some purple in real life.
New Years Eve was a fun night.  Last year we went to a party our town has been having for a few years.  We had never been to it.  But's it's down the street from us at the Fairgrounds and we didn't want to travel too far on New Years Eve but we were a little tired of staying home.   We've stayed home for years with our youngest son but this party is for the whole family so we tried it.   It was so much fun we went back this year.
There are rooms set up with different bands, the 60's room, 70's room, 80's room and 90's room.  Each room had it's own bar set up and there were gourment food trucks outside.   I had a slider which was fried chicken with mash potatoes and gravy in a little sandwich.  Boy was it good!
Middle son and girl friend even joined us.  Oldest son was at his girlfriends parents house for a party so I could breathe easy knowing everyone was safe and sound for the evening.   I always worry when my boys are out and about on the big holidays.
New Years Day was spent with friends at our favorite Italian restaurant near Venice Beach.
Dogs were everywhere!  This was a beautiful dog and very sweet.  He looks a little scary with all those leather straps and studs on him but he was pretty mellow.   A little lady who couldn't have weighed more than 90 lbs was walking him around but she seemed in control.
This Great Dane on the other hand was a handful even for the man who was with him.  He jumped at all the other dogs.   His eyes were really red, it's not the camera.   We asked his owner about his eyes and he said his eyes were inflamed for some reason and all red.  It made for a pretty scary look,he looked like a devil dog!
This dog was just so beautiful and white I had to take a picture.  I could never take my dog out in a big crowd like this, he would not behave.
All kinds of vendor selling their wares on the boardwalk in Venice and every few feet it seemed like someone was trying to get us to come into their "medical marijuana clinic".  Hmm.
Lots of fun rocks for the kids to play on and a beautiful sunset.   It was a great day.
Once again my camera didn't do they skies justice, they were so beautiful.   Well I'm curious to find out what 2012 will bring, hopefully a lot of good things : )   Usually I am a little sad when Christmas is over and the old year passes.   It didn't feel that way this year.   Having my son in the hospital just before Christmas so sick,  things aren't bothering me so much.  I am happy for everyday that we are all together and feeling good!

Looks like lots of fun things! I always love to see what the holiday season looks like in other parts of the country. Here, it's been pretty cold. Hope you are having a great week!
