Christmas!!!!

Well it is officially the Christmas season, Thanksgiving has passed, there are bags of frozen turkey in the freezer and the  Christmas decorations are in boxes all over the kitchen waiting to be unpacked. The  tree at the mall is up and decorated, actually was up before Thanskgiving, and here is a  picture of Youngest Son and friend with the outdoor tree.  We got the lights up on our house over the weekend too.  I actually started a little shopping already, mostly online.  No Black Friday crowds for me.  I know a lot of people love it, my good friend and my sister love to go out there and shop in the wee hours but I've never wanted to.

I even have a Christmasy manicure.  This color looks a lot better in person, it is a beautiful sparkly red called Ruby Pumps by China Glaze.  

The weather is finally starting to turn a little here in So Cal, it has been unusually warm this summer.  I still don't need a sweater to go out unless it is really early in the morning on the beach.  It was around 80 just a few days ago and this is the end of November!  Hopefully things cool off and we get some snow in the local mountains this year and a lot of rain.     

Middle Son got his official acceptance letter from the private University he applied to so we are all very excited and happy about that.  He went the junior college route first and got his Associate Degree last May and is transferring.  He picked this particular school because of their amazing art facility.  He will be moving in on January 6 and starting classes the 7th.  I'm so excited for him, what an experience!  Older son who is a little slower at growing up and  figuring out what he wants to do has decided to take a few classes this coming semester and I am very happy about that too : )  He is artistic also and has decided that learning about his dad's business might be a good idea.  So he is starting with the basics, a gemology class and a beginning metal working class.   Dad is a goldsmith, silversmith/jeweler and until now no one has wanted to follow him into the business.  We'll see.  

Youngest Son is in his first year of Junior High and tryed out for the basketball team yesterday.  He was very nervous about it and wanted to back out but after a call from dad and me showing up at the tryouts he went through with it.  Even if he doesn't make the team I think it was a good experience trying out anyway.   He is really loving Junior High and doing much better than I expected.   He has his first girlfriend.  I was not sure it was a good idea at first so young, 13, but being girlfriend and boyfriend consists of eating lunch together at school and texting now and then and seeing each other at church, telling their friends they're "going out".   I asked him what that means and he just gave me a funny look and said, we're just going out mom.  I asked where they were going and he said no where it just means she's my girlfriend.   That is pretty much the extent of it.  

I will end my post with a picture of my very spoiled dog.  I try to keep him off my bed but he sneaks up there when I leave the room.  He is such a sweetie and a snuggler , it's hard to make him get down : )
