20 days, 12, hours and 46 minutes till.............Halloween!!

I love fall!!  I love Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas and love to go all out decorating for all three.  I am a little behind this year though.  I have all my decorations boxed up in my attic and the only way to get at them is with a ladder.   I asked my husband to bring it home everyday for a week before I finally got it : )  He's been very busy!   Anyway I went out over the weekend to a craft fair and some rummage sales and I always have my eye out for decorations for mainly these three holidays.  I have all mostly grown boys now and wondered if they really cared about the decorations anymore.   Well last year Middle Son was staying with a friend for a while, we were disagreeing a little on house rules, (I win) and he called me and apologized and said he was coming home.  I found out later that he was really bummed out because his friends family didn't decorate for Halloween!  He said it didn't feel special like it always did at our house and it made him feel bad and miss his brothers and home.  So I guess they do care and I care so I'll keep decorating.

A gift from a friend this year : )  Flameless candles!

I found a Gurley witch candle for 25cents, so cute!

Isn't she pretty??   The jack-o-lantern is a little newer I think.

And I got these little guys for .10cents each.

Beautiful Cinderella pumpkins!!!!

And this is my beautiful, sweet kitty Dotty who will only be with us in spirit this year.  He loved to lay on my Halloween table.  It was a little irritating because he would get his white hair all over it.  Well he died an untimely death (coyote-I won't say anymore) a few months ago and I still miss him dearly.  I would not let the white hair bother me at all now that I know how it feels to be without him : (  But he had a wonderful life and lived as he pleased.   We tried to keep him in at night and he was neutered but he just had that gene that wanted to go out and explore and hunt.  He brought home mice and birds and lizards at least twice a week to share with us.   We tried to keep him in at night but he was completely miserable.  So we decided that quality was better than quantity and let him out hoping that he would be fast enough if he ever got into trouble.  I'd say as he'd walk outside with his tail up every evening around 11:00pm, "be careful Dotty!"   He was with us 8 years and brought a lot of joy.

Well I'm off to do more Halloween decorating in the yard while I have some help : )

You have found such treasures, that witch is my favourite! :) I am glad your son realized just how special a place you make your home at this time of year. I am sorry for your loss too. I do hope Dotty is with there in spirit on Halloween night and, always.
