December: Christmas!

This is my tree this year.  It has a beautiful shape and is a little shorter than usual which was not on purpose!  I was eyeballing it and when we got home it was not quite as tall as I usually get.  All three of my son's were home to help so I was very pleased.  I was trying not to annoy my 20 and 22 year old with Christmas music and my oldest suprized me by saying" Mom isn't something missing?" I wasn't sure where he was going with that and he said " Aren't we supposed to be listening to Christmas music or have a Christmas movie on while we decorate the tree?"  We wound up watching "Elf" as we decorated.  It was a very pleasant evening : )
                                                           At the Christmas tree lot.

Of course I need my little silver tree in the dining area with all red balls and red birds.  Very pretty.

This is the tree outside the Balboa Fire Station, on the island.  My son, at the far left in the picture in green shirt and Santa hat sings with a group (all girls except him!) and they sang at the tree lighting ceremony last night.  It was very nice.

Parking on the Island is difficult on a normal day, so we parked on the Penninsula and took the ferry over and on the way back it was getting dark and everything was lit up beautifully.

This is an ornament I got my first trip to N.Y.C. with my mother in 2008.  I did my darndest to get my pictures on here in some kind of order but I had to quit trying or throw my laptop at the wall and I really didn't want to do that : /   So frustrating!  Some will move and some won't and who knows what will happen when I push publish!

This a my son on our walk back to the ferry, the sunset was so beautiful!

This is LAX in the wee hours of the morning last year when I went to N.Y.C. with my sister for our 50th bday.  We waited till December to be there for Christmas time because she had never seen it at Christmas.  So beautiful.
And there is me outside of the toy store in Manhattan.  It was so cold I was wearing earmuffs a knee length coat and tights under my jeans with knee high boots.  Brrrr.

I wish I could say my doggy Lincoln was happy wearing these reindeer ears but he was only humoring me.  He didn't care for it at all!
